The distillery was erected 3 years after the end of prohibition and remained in the Willett family until 1984 when it was purchased by the Kulsveen family. When they took over the distillery had been shutdown after a failed attempt to switch to ethanol production. To this day, the distillery is run by the Kulsveen family.
